River Studies Center: The Center has dedicated nearly a half century to providing students hands-on experiences studying the health of freshwater systems — rivers, lakes, streams, ponds and more — many located just miles from the university in the Upper Mississippi River Valley. The Center's leadership, scholarship and outreach help sustain, restore and increase awareness of these valuable ecosystems.
ONE DAY FOR UWL 2023 Rivers Studies Center Match: Kelly Rusch '86, will match the first $500 donated to the River Studies Center!
Screaming Eagles Marching Band: The SEMB is one of the most active and visible organizations at UWL during the fall semester. The SEMB performs at all home football games at Veterans Memorial Stadium, as well as at various venues in the La Crosse area and around the states of Wisconsin and Minnesota.
ONE DAY FOR UWL 2023 Rivers Studies Center Match: Dr. Tammy Fisher will give $250 to the Screaming Eagles Marching Band when 15 recent grads make a gift to the Music Department!
Adapted PE: The Adapted Physical Education emphasis is designed for educators interested in teaching, leadership, and supervisory roles in adapted physical education.
Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation: As a catalyst for campus and community outreach, the Center supports entrepreneurship initiatives while offering education and growth opportunities for UWL students, faculty, regional businesses and organizations.
Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center: The mission of the Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center is to provide education about the science of archaeology and the ancient cultures of the upper Mississippi River Valley to the general public, educators, undergraduate students, and precollegiate students; to conduct research and exploration of archaeological sites and artifacts; to preserve archaeological artifacts of ancient cultures which flourished within the upper Mississippi Valley; and to provide a regional center to promote an understanding of the prior inhabitants of this region.
Self Sufficiency Program: SSP is a free, pre-college program that provides participants an opportunity to explore academic and career interests in a supportive setting. Offered each fall and spring semester, the 10-week class meets Tuesday evenings on the UWL campus. Free childcare is available on-site.
Veterans Fund: The Veterans Services office facilitates transitions from the military to university life.
