Murphy Library

Who we are: 

Murphy Library is a critical part of the teaching and research mission at UWL providing vital resources for campus research and physical spaces to meet student needs.


Your impact:  Past fundraising efforts have improved Murphy Library greatly!


Recent projects funded by donors include: 

  • a print book collection assuring that new materials continued to be added to Murphy Library after a 20% budget cut 
  • a graphic novel collection meeting the assignment needs of UWL's Education Department
  • a student-created board game that helps orient students to campus resources,
  • student paintings that benefit all who visit the library
  • a UWL trivia night where students left with a greater understanding of campus history and the valuable archival resources available for their research and coursework
  • a portable device charging and sanitizing station allowing students to stay connected and healthy while studying. 


Your gift supports: This year, students are asking for more outlets so that they can study longer without having to move to a different location, updated furniture that is more ergonomic and meets various abilities and needs, more beanbag chairs to relax in, and whiteboards and other tools to help with test prep.
