UWL Division of Diversity & Inclusion

The Division provides leadership and services, advocates for access, equity and inclusion for historically marginalized and systematically under-served populations. The Division creates an inclusive environment for preparedness, global awareness, and service to others. For the purposes of One Day for UWL, we would like to highlight the offices listed below.

ACCESS CENTER: The ACCESS Center promotes equal access and educational opportunity for students with disabilities and provides services to students attending UW-La Crosse who have a documented disability.

Center for Transformative Justice: We have an active, intentional, and ongoing commitment to bridge differences with understanding and respect so all can thrive. Everybody can play a role in building this Inclusive Excellence community. Please join us in our efforts to make and maintain a positive climate for the UWL campus and beyond.

Multicultural Student Services: The Office of Multicultural Student Services uses a holistic development approach to academic excellence, leadership, and the personal/social development of African American, Indigenous/American Indian, Hispanic/Latinx, Asian American, Hmoob, and biracial or multi-ethnic students at UWL.

Pride Center: The mission of the Pride Center is to foster a safe environment for all LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff, educate the campus and community on issues, and advocate for student success and inclusivity.

Student Support Services: Established in 198, UWL's SSS program has been serving first-generation college students, students from income-eligible households, and students with disabilities for over 40 years, providing access to quality advising, tutoring, professional skill development, financial assistance, and much more. The mission of Student Support Services is to serve eligible college students and foster an institutional climate support of their success. Our services are designed to enhance academic skills, increase retention, increase graduation rates, and facilitate entrance into graduate and professional programs. Our vision aspires to foster an environment of community and belonging for our students and staff, a place that provides opportunity for mutual learning through authentic relationships, modeled empathy, and open communication.

Student Association Women of Color ScholarshipThe Women of Color Scholarship was created in the 2017-2018 academic year. It is one of the first student-led campaigns in the history of our campus. It was created by UWL’s Student Association to increase retention rates of women of color on our campus who are disadvantaged both by their race and gender. This scholarship helps to support the women of color on our campus by providing a scholarship to aid with the hefty costs of higher education. Our ultimate goal is to have the scholarship become an endowment. An endowment would ensure that we can continue to show support for the women of color on our campus for many years. Please help support us in our mission to make the Women of Color Scholarship an endowed fund! Sincerely, Student Association.
